Students will visit comparable work settings in Iowa and Scotland to gain an understanding of occupational safety climate culture, and regulatory environment in the United States (US) and United Kingdom (UK). They will be able to compare and contrast US and UK safety education and industry implementation. Also, students will be exposed to historical and cultural sites and activities allowing for an opportunity for a more well-rounded view of the two cultures.

Criteria for Selection:
2.50 GPA, with more than 60 academic credits. There will also be a personal interview.
Skills and Additional Requirements:
Traveler must own safety shoes and safety glasses, be willing to be flexible with schedules and travel situations, be able to walk for multiple hours, and be able to carry luggage as needed.
: $3,500.00-$4,000 (includes: airfare, lodging, transportation, some group meals, required CISI health and emergency insurance).
Out of Pocket Expenses
: approximately $350 for meals on own, $150 suggested for incidentals (snacks, souvenirs, etc), $105 Study Abroad Admin Fee charged by SAC 3224 MU, $10 application fee.
