Program Features

ItalyWhy Italy?

Spend your Spring Break experiencing Italy! Focused on the rich culture and history of Italy, you'll have the opportunity to explore the country first-hand through a visit to Florence. The city is a true cultural center of Europe and home of the Renaissance; it's packed with artistic masterpieces. You'll learn about the roots of western culture with the walls of Europe's best galleries and learn the significance of the famous Duomo while climbing it, then stop for a taste of the local culture at one of Florence's many gelato shops.

The program includes a visit to the famous central market in Florence. There is also a full day trip to the Tuscan hill town of Volterra.Study Abroad Shorts are brief study abroad experiences developed with freshmen in mind. They are an introduction to study abroad where you can test the waters early in your academic program. Return prepared, confident and motivated to succeed in college and the professional world. Study Abroad Shorts programs are focused on building key skills that you will need in your college career and in your professional career following graduation. An Introduction to Italy provides an opportunity to experience one of Iowa State University's main locations for ISU Semester in Italy and ISU Summer in Italy programs. You will have the opportunity to hear guest lectures from professors at ISU's partner institution, Lorenzo de' Medici.

ItalyWhat courses?
