Academic Program

The University of Limerick (UL) was established in 1972 and is an internationally focused university with over 11,000 students and 1,300 staff. UL has a proud record of innovation in education and excellence in research and scholarship. UL's engineering department offers many areas of engineering including: aeronautical, biomedical, civil and construction, chemical, computer, electrical, mechanical engineering and courses for IE students. 

 

Its mission is to promote and advance learning and knowledge through teaching, research, and scholarship in an environment which encourages innovation and upholds the principles of free enterprise

City Information

Limerick is a vibrant, riverside city with big city amenities and an innate friendliness. The city has fascinating historic sites, fashionable bars, charming pubs, glossy shops, great restaurants, and boutique hotels. Limerick has over 20,000 students studying at the third level and is a great cultural experience.

Limerick is Ireland’s third largest city. It contains castles, ancient walls, and museums as a way to learn about its dramatic history.

Rugby is very popular in Limerick and it is known unofficially as “rugby capital.”

Living on campus provides an excellent student experience including campus village communities, welcoming people, and it is close to friends, classes, and sports facilities.

 

There are 5 student villages which offer your own room within 6 bedroom modern apartments.
