General administration of academic services
Furnished room
Local transportation between DIS and your housing
Meals or partial food stipend
Laundry facilities and/or allowance
Pre-departure & on-site student information services
Group pick-up at airport on Arrival Day
DIS Arrival Workshop
Medical, accident, and liability insurance
Visa advice and assistance
24-hour emergency support
Various cultural and social events
Administration of housing and student affairs activities
DIS Fees:
Comprehensive Tuition Fee = $20,900
Comprehensive Housing & Student Affairs Fee = $6,625*
DIS provides a $4000 discount to Iowa State students. This discount is reflected above in the room amount of $2625.
Board or meals is calculated based on figures from the DIS website. DIS estimates students will spend $400-550/month on food. The semester program is roughly 4 months long. Our estimate of $1800 is based on 4 months at $450/month.
Personal Expenses are calculated based on figures from the DIS website. DIS estimates students will spend $1000-3000/semester.
Book rental is included in the DIS Comprehensive Tuition Fee, and therefore has been listed here as $0.
Visa and mailing are calculated based on figures from the DIS website. DIS estimates students will spend $350/semester.
Airfare is calculated based on figures from the DIS website. DIS estimates students will spend $1000-1500 on a plane ticket.
