Travel Registration

TRAVEL REGISTRATION

As per the International Travel Registration Policy, US territories and protectorates should be considered international travel, and therefore travel to these locations needs to follow the same process as international travel.

Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate students participating in Iowa State sponsored and/or affiliated activities outside the U.S., whether or not involving ISU funds (including independent study credit, research credit, or non-credit activities), need to register their international travel.
If you are going on an established study abroad program, you can register directly in ISUAbroad.
If you are traveling as part of a student organization, then look here for next steps:  Risk Management.
For all other international travel that is sponsored or affiliated by ISU, contact your college’s study abroad office or the Study Abroad Center:

Graduate and Professional Students

Graduate and professional students travelling on an established study abroad program need to register for that specific program in ISUAbroad

Graduate students traveling for research, independent research, field studies, conferences, or similar professional travel should register via the link below, the same as faculty and staff travel.

Faculty, Staff, and Post-doctoral Scholars

Faculty, Staff, and Post-doctoral Scholars Register through the International Travel Registration Portal

All Travelers
Before traveling outside of the U.S., all travelers should consult the U.S. Department of State and the Centers for Disease Control.  In addition, it is recommended that all travelers consult their primary care physician as needed.  More information about international insurance is available from the Office of Risk Management
