National Central University

Academic Program
National Central University was founded in 1902 with roots from 258 CE in mainland China. After NCU in Nanking was renamed Nanjing University in 1949, NCU was re-established in Taiwan in 1962. The departments included in this student exchange include: Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology and Atmospheric Science (Earth Sciences), Mathematics, Statistics, and Software Engineering.

Students should have completed at least their freshman year prior to study at NCU in Taiwan. Programs in each of the areas above are open to undergraduate and graduate students in good standing at Iowa State. Examples of courses available in Fall 2015 in English for each department are listed here.

Chemistry: Special Topics in Organometallic Chemistry; Computational Chemistry; Principle and Use of Powder XRD in Chemistry; Advanced Physical Chemistry; Advanced Organic Chemistry; Advanced Inorganic Chemistry, Advanced Analytical Chemistry

Program Fee

This is an exchange program. Students will pay their normal Iowa State University tuition and fees.

Housing Information

Students are provided assistance in locating an apartment off-campus. Dormitory space is NOT available to exchange students.
