Program Description:
AnSci Brazil

Program Description:
Examine the structure of the bovine and equine industries in Brazil with attention to the distinctive differences in environmental management and resource usage, markets and management style in the raising of horses and beef cattle in Brazil.

Course Numbers: AnSci 495 1 credit for Spring 2016, AnSci 496 2 credits for Summer 2016.

Travel Dates: May 8 - May 19, 2016

Horse and Cattle Brazil

Program Prerequisites:
2.5 GPA minimum. At least sophomore standing at the time of the trip.
This program will require you to be prepared to be a responsible traveler.
It is expected that you will be mature, considerate and polite.
It is expected that you will eagerly and openly accept others from different cultures and delight in learning about the world we live in.
Physical mobility important as the leaders cannot control the accessibility of all sites to be planned. 
Group will visit animal harvest facilities and so student must not be hampered or offended by such activities.

Program Costs:
Program Fee:
approximately $5500.00 (includes RT airfare, lodging, in-country transportation, Brazilian Visa, some meals, entrance fees, required CISI health and emergency insurance).

Out of Pocket Expenses:  $400 for incidentals, souvenirs, snacks, some meals (amount will depend on your spending habits). 

Additional Costs:  ISU summer tuition and fees, $10 application fee, $105 study abroad admin fee (charged by the study abroad center in 3224 MU), $135 for a passport (if you don't already have one, $500 vaccinations (depending on where you go in Brazil, what you need and your health insurance policy).

Program fee and tuition and fees will be billed in early April 2016 and due by May 20.

ISU Summer Tuition and Fees:  approximately $650 for ISU tuition and $250 in fees, plus a $105 study aboad admin fee (charged by study abroad center in 3224 MU).
There may be a CALS tuition scholarship available for Summer Tuition for CALS students, but not fee, you will still need to pay fees.
