Billable subtotal costs will be processed through your ISU U-Bill. 

Non-billable subtotal are estimated expenses that you will pay directly, out of pocket. These costs may vary depending on currency exchange rate and other factors.

Housing has been estimated at $500 per month for 5 months. Students can be placed into housing that is more or less expensive than this estimate.

Miscellaneous includes 2 fees: one is the University of Mannheim semester fee which is required. It costs approx. 110 Euros or $125 and will need to be paid directly to Mannheim. The remainder of the Miscellaneous fees is for an optional language course before the semester starts. It is called the International Winter Academy. The tuition cost is approx. €685 or $750. 

Local transportation: Students can buy a semester ticket for €180 for unlimited public transportation in the greater Mannheim area.

Health insurance (not billable): This is German statutory health insurance. Required for nearly all students unless you have a special exemption. €108/month. 

Some examples of items in Anticipated Personal Expenses: SIM card and phone data plan, laundry, toiletries, entertainment, taxi/Uber rides. Personal trips to other cities or countries during weekends or breaks are not included in Anticipated Personal Expenses. To give you an idea, students can choose to spend anywhere from $1,000-$3,000 or more on additional travel while abroad. 

If a student withdraws after committing to a program, there could be non-refundable costs.
